Mawu - The Goddess of The Night

As a MOBA games player and a big fan of different mythologies, I really enjoy Smite, a MOBA game in which you fight with selected god /goddess or mythical creature taken straight from many different mythologies from all around the world.  For this project I decided to make a goddess from a mythology not yet present in the game. Mawu is a creator Goddess, Goddess of the Night, associated with the Moon in Dahomey Mythology. As she is a mother, creator of everything I imagined her to be very strong and warm so for her role in the game I wanted her to be a healer - tank. She has strong huge fists to be able to box enemies to protect her allies, my concept for her is based on having typical for tanks 1 dashing and 1 immobilising enemies ability, then a heal and a damage ult to make her strong even as individual. Now one may wonder why my character looks nothing like a mythological goddess, and that's because skins are extremely popular in MOBA games, that's why I designed my own inspired by steampunk and cyberpunk. I actually changed my concept slightly, because while looking for references for my clothing I came across elements that really inspired me that I was never exposed to before (steampunk). But the main concept for her look didn't change, I wanted her to be strong and as the Goddess of the Night I wanted her to be beautiful and mysterious and I'm pretty happy with the results. 

I wouldn't say that this project is finished, there is so many things I want to improve, but I had only this much time for this project and my skills are far from perfect, but I've learnt so much while working on this project and I continue to keep learning. I definitely have to work on my texturing skills and I'm really motivated to do so as I can see how it takes away form my models. As a "Animation and VFX" course student I actually had only one class dedicated to character art, but going into university 2,5 years ago I never had any experience with 3D before so I didn't know yet that I want to be 3D character artist, but I'm sure of it now, therefore I'm extremely motivated to from more of a generalist work my way up to being specialised in 3D Character Art. I've loved art my entire life, I've been drawing since childhood and I have many ideas and now I'm just working hard to improve on my skills. Rigging is unfortunately not finished there are some errors, but I run out of time [UPDATE: 3 days after the deadline I actually managed to fix the main issue of not having the gloves parented to the body, I'll upload it in the separate file]. That's also the reason why my model isn't in Unreal Engine, I've never had any previous experience with UE before and even though I've tried importing my model, I only had one day left to make it work and it was not enough for me to learn this new software.
